AirHarp Lira - Fully Assembled w/ Laser-Cut Acrylic or Basswood Enclosure

The AirHarp Lira is a handheld ultrasonic digital autoharp built around our very own Lira 2 microcontroller platform. The AirHarp Lira comes fully assembled, programmed and tested by the instrument's inventor, Peter DeSimone.

This package includes:

  • (1) AirHarp Lira ultrasonic digital autoharp.
  • (1) AA battery.

All you need is:

OPTION 1:

  • A MIDI-to-USB cable, like this one, or any music production interface that provides MIDI input to your computer.
  • A modern computer running Mac OS X or Windows. The computer must feature a USB port and have a CPU clock speed sufficient for software synthesis (most machines manufactured within the last five years are more than adequate). An Apple iPad also works with an Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit!
  • A software synthesis package of some kind. Macs come with GarageBand pre-installed, and there's a free program called Cantabile Lite for Windows. A host of options are available for iPad, including GarageBand, Animoog & NanoStudio, to name a few.

OPTION 2:

  • A synthesizer with MIDI input.
  • A regular male-male MIDI cable, like this one.

AirHarp USB - Fully Assembled w/ Laser-Cut Foam Enclosure *** DISCONTINUED! ***

The AirHarp USB is a handheld ultrasonic digital autoharp built around the Arduino Uno R2 microcontroller. Specialized firmware code written by Dr. Yoshitaka Kuwata of Morecat Lab allows the AirHarp USB to be instantly recognized as a USB MIDI controller instrument when plugged into virtually any modern computer (and even some mobile devices, such as the Apple iPad). The AirHarp USB comes fully assembled, programmed and tested by the instrument's inventor, Peter DeSimone.

This package includes:

  • (1) AirHarp USB ultrasonic digital autoharp.
  • (1) USB-A/B connection cable.

All you need is:

  • A modern computer running Mac OS X, Ubuntu Linux or Windows. The computer must feature a USB port and have a CPU clock speed sufficient for software synthesis (most machines manufactured within the last five years are more than adequate). An Apple iPad will also work!
  • A software synthesis package of some kind. Macs come with GarageBand pre-installed, and there's a free program called Cantabile Lite for Windows. A host of options are available for iPad, including GarageBand, Animoog & NanoStudio, to name a few.
